Pioneer DVL-919 DVD / Laser Disc / CD and CD-R Player

This disc player from the Pioneer band is one of the few still around that can make videophiles into a hard core format. In fact, there are some people who have not switched from the format in analog video. Right now, the DVD video in compressed digital video format is the preferred choice.

However, this disc player has the capability of using both. The DVL-919 disc player is a great substitute for an LD player, especially if you just beginning to use these audio visual products. It has plenty of components for videophiles that include outputs for component videos, 10 bit video processing and a digital comb filter made of three lines. Audiophiles use converters that have analog converters and outputs for Dolby Digital and Digital Theater Sound.

This DVL-919 can be used to play your regular DVDs and Laser discs. You would use DA converters that are high end quality and provide a reduction in noise. If you want to use the playback function, the Viterbi error correction is there just for that purpose. You can see and listen to a wonderful movie performance with Dolby Digital, dts decoding and hi-bit conversion.

Additional sound includes Virtual Dolby Surround sound with SRS TruSurround. The heads-up remote is integrated with a graphics user interface. The DVD portion has a condition memory and continue play memory feature. The continue play memory feature also works with LD and video CD.

Other features include coaxial digital out, optical digital out and S-video output. Plus, this disc player provides wonderful animation and cinema, auto still, frame and field components and dynamic range.

It’s too bad there are not may disc players that can operate in the way this one does. On the other hand, it’s probably a good thing because Pioneer can be the leader with disc players such as this one.
