Yamaha BD-S2900 Blu-ray Disc High-Definition Player
The Yamaha BD-S2900 Blu-ray Disc High-Definition Player is different than other disc players on the market today. It has a 16-step motion detection feature along with modes that light up automatically.
Plus, this disc player has five different picture modes that include Normal, Soft, Fine, Cinema and User. The audio bitstream output comes from direct high definition sources including Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio which is lossless. This disc player model from Yamaha is the first one to enter the Blu-ray category. It has a resolution playback of 1080p/60 or 1080p/24 for Blu-ray discs. It also has bitstream output for Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD through the output of HDMI 1.3a. It can also be played with regular DVDs and other DVD formats that are recordable. Plus, regular CDs that play standard music, CD-Rs and CD-RWs are included in that.
The BD-2900 model uses the Bonus View features in Profile 1.1 and cannot be upgraded to Profile 2.0. The internal decoding feature includes Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby TrueHD in addition to bitstream output through the HDMI system. This can be used for all sound formats in digital surround sound. There are also high definition outputs from video, such as HDMI and DVI-HDCP that come with an adapter.
